March: Check-up and fluoridation month at Moonz

We at Moonz es ortodoncia are concerned about everyone’s oral health, children and adults alike. When it comes to oral health, we know that prevention is key, so for the month of March, we have implemented a check-up and fluoridation campaign.

This campaign is targeted especially at children ages three to six, the recommended age for a child’s first visit to a dental specialist – if he or she has not gone before. Even though they still have their baby teeth, it is still important to take good care of them and prevent cavities with techniques like fluoridation. Getting a check-up of the current placement is crucial for diagnoses that minimise or eliminate future malformations, such as ogival palate.

This initial trip to the clinic is a way of getting children familiar with orthodontics according to the “magical world of Moonz,” with its positive, playful attitude that encourages children to develop healthy habits.

Moonz likes to remind our patients that the mouth is more than just a show window. It is the place where we chew, an activity that must be done properly for proper digestion. It is also the final “gateway” for other everyday activities, like the production and articulation of sounds. This means that good formation is also important for proper pronunciation. That is why we at Moonz pamper our patients’ mouths. If you know us, you already know this, and if you don’t, we invite you to come in for a visit and discover the benefits of this positive campaign.

A beautiful, “fluoridated” March

Check-ups are important, but fluoridations are too. They are a simple, painless procedure that strengthen the teeth and make them more resistant. The process involves the topical application – i.e., localised external use – of fluoride to prevent cavities and increase the resistance of the tooth enamel. It is especially recommended for children, and in some situations for adults, though always by a specialist since large doses of fluoride are harmful to the health.
